Have we moved from traditional selling?

With about 4.6 billion social media users, you will agree that the world of traditional selling is fast changing. Traditional selling allows sellers and buyers to interact physically and exchange goods and services for money. Nowadays, you can easily order products and services via social media, and they will be delivered to your doorstep. Indeed, there’s no arguing that social media is the invisible link connecting sellers and buyers all in one spot. Does this mean traditional selling is irrelevant in this time and age?

Of course not! Social media has not come to eradicate traditional selling. It has instead come to amplify the efforts of traditional selling. In other words, when you put your business on social media, you are only making your business visible and accessible to a broader reach.

Unlike in the olden days when people only went to the market when they needed your products or services, you can easily reach your potential customers on social media. Another benefit social media does to your potential customers is to nudge them to buy from you now. When they come across your posts or sponsored ads online, you remind them that your business is available to serve them.

In terms of profit, the gains your business will recoup using social media as leverage outweighs when you are just selling traditionally. And the reason why this is so is that as you reach more people, more people buy from you, and when more people buy from you, you make more profit. Social media is a leverage every business owner should employ for their business, making traditional selling more efficient and effective.
